Piano with Wind and Trains
Piano with Wind and Trains is a documentary that captures a week in the life of Sgt. Justin Echols, an Oklahoma City Police Officer who moonlights as a jazz pianist and vocalist. Echols, who began playing the piano just three years ago, has transformed what began as therapy for his bad back into an incredible rise to notoriety in the jazz community - much to the amazement of his friends and family. But the road to becoming a star is sometimes paved in irony: His first recorded album waits for him in a box behind a dumpster. A gig at the local farmer's market will serve as the litmus test for whether or not his CD will sell. An Andrew Laker Film is set for release in 2010. Piano with Wind and Train was Special Selection at the Atlanta International Documentary Film Festival in 2010.
